SHINING STAR SPORTS
Shining Star Sports is excited to announce that nine area basketball players that played with
Shining Star this past AAU season were nominated on the first
McDonald's All-American Game ballot!
While the chances are slim that any of our players will actually play in the game, we are proud to have our guys be mentioned as some of the top high school players in the country!
Of the 58 players from Ohio appearing on the list, Shining Star is proud to claim seven of these players! In Kentucky, two of the 39 state wide nominees played with our teams!
This is exciting news for these players, their coaches and our entire program. Over five years ago, we set out to build our program to achieve such accolades as this. Congratulations to these players, their coaches and their teammates.
Here is the list of Shining Star alums and their high school
Walt Gibler - St Xavier
Derek Hellemann - Lebanon
Arrez Henderson - Covington Holmes
Cam Johnson - Aiken
Quinn McDowell - Moeller
Te'Allen Price - Woodward
Kyle Rudolph - Elder
Michael Sparks - Lexington Catholic
Charles Winkfield - Huber Heights Wayne
Less than 1400 of the approx 150,000 high school senior players were nominated throughout the entire country. So to be selected on this list means that these are the top one percent of senior high school basketball players! If you can ever be considered in the top one percent of anything, you should be proud!
Here are the other players nominated in the immediate greater Cincinnati area -
Brandon Baker Milford
Damon Butler North College Hill
Courtney Davis Taft
Michael Davenport Moeller
Yancy Gates Withrow
