ELDER
BASKETBALL

The Elder Basketball Program will hold its Annual ‘Grade School Night at the Pit’ on Friday, Jan.15 as the Panthers take on GCL rival Hamilton Badin.  All students in grades K-8 wearing their team uniform or other clothing with their school name on it will be admitted FREE of CHARGE to the game.
 
There will be giveaways, contests, student participation and other fun activities throughout the night. After the game, the players from the Elder Varsity Basketball team will be available for autographs.  Game times are Freshmen – 430 p.m., JV – 6 p.m. and Varsity 730 p.m.

FOOTBALL

Elder senior quarterback Mark Miller has committed to play at Ohio Dominican. The college program is an NAIA school in Columbus. He committed about a week ago.

Miller has thrown for 2,183 yards and 20 touchdowns this season for Elder, which is one of the top teams in the state. He helped lead Elder to a Division I state runner-up finish last year.

BASEBALL/FOOTBALL

Elder senior Brian Korte signed a letter of commitment to play baseball for Indiana University.  As a junior, Korte’s record was 3-1 with a 3.78 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings.  He was recognized as first-team GCL-South.

He will join two other Elder athletes at Indiana, Tim O’Conner and Pete Bachman, who previously committed to play football there.
